Always seek the advice of a licensed physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any question regarding a medical condition, symptoms, medication or test result.

Intended use of the products

The rapid antigen and combination SARS-CoV-2 / Influenza A & B tests supplied by Remedium are in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices intended for the qualitative detection of viral antigens in human anterior-nares specimens by lay users, in accordance with each manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU). They are an aid to diagnosis only. At-home PCR collection kits are specimen-collection devices; analysis is performed by an independent accredited laboratory.

Limitations of testing

A negative result does not exclude SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A or Influenza B infection and must not be used as the sole basis for treatment or patient-management decisions. Sensitivity is reduced in early infection, in asymptomatic individuals and where sample collection is inadequate. Positive results indicate the presence of viral antigen but do not distinguish variants, do not quantify infectiousness and do not exclude co-infection with other pathogens. Results should be interpreted alongside clinical presentation, exposure history and, where indicated, confirmatory RT-PCR testing.

Emergencies

If you experience severe breathlessness, chest pain, confusion, persistent high fever, bluish lips or any other emergency symptom, do not rely on a self-test. Call 995 or attend the nearest emergency department immediately.

Regulatory position

Products are supplied in original sealed manufacturer packaging with the applicable IFU. Remedium is a distributor and is not the legal manufacturer of the devices it supplies. Users are responsible for confirming that a given test is appropriate and permitted for their intended purpose, including any employer, school, airline or destination-country requirement, which Remedium does not warrant.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Remedium disclaims all liability for any loss, injury or damage arising from reliance on information published on this website or from use, misuse or misinterpretation of any test performed outside the manufacturer's instructions for use.
